Atkinson Sheriff and Jail
Use the Atkinson County Office of Sheriff for a current county-jail status, local booking or release record, bond question, or sheriff Open Records Act request. Sheriff David Moore is identified on the official sheriff site. The jail line is the direct route for custody and bonding information.

The sheriff states that all Atkinson bonding occurs at the Atkinson County Jail, including when a female inmate or overflow male inmate is housed in Coffee County. Cash bonds are accepted in money-order form only, not cash, checks, or cards. Call the jail before arranging payment or travel.
Atkinson Court Records
Use the sentencing or case court for a bond order, disposition, sentence, probation order, dismissal, or other docket document. The Superior and Juvenile Court clerk handles many felony and serious criminal records. Probate and Magistrate Court maintains matters within its jurisdiction.

Georgia Corrections Contacts
A person sentenced to state custody belongs in the Georgia Department of Corrections system, not the Atkinson jail roster. Use GDC for state offender location, sentence, and release-date questions. Use the State Board for parole tools and DCS for adult felony supervision after release.
- Georgia Department of Corrections: 404-656-4661 for general questions.
- State Board of Pardons and Paroles: 404-657-9450 or GaParoleBoard@pap.ga.gov.
- Georgia Department of Community Supervision: 678-783-4337.
- DCS Lakeland virtual office: P.O. Box 633, Lakeland, GA 31635, serving Atkinson in the Alapaha Circuit.
DCS Open Records
Formal DCS record requests go to the agency’s Open Records Custodian. Identify the person, the exact supervision record, the relevant date range, and a case number or GDC ID when known.

Where to Direct Questions
Choose the source by record type. County jail custody and release go to the sheriff. Court outcomes and sentences go to the clerk. State-prison status goes to GDC. Parole decisions and parolee lookup go to the Board. Felony supervision records go to DCS. Federal prison records belong to BOP, immigration custody to ICE, and qualifying registry records to GBI.
Under the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 through 50-18-74, an agency generally provides records, a production timetable, or a lawful response within three business days. That is not a promise of final production in three days. State guidance gives ten cents per page as a copy-fee example and allows actual media costs. Ask the receiving agency for an estimate.
