Georgia Parole Lookup Paths

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles presents two tools with different time frames. Inmate TPM Lookup concerns an eligible state inmate before release. Parolee Search concerns a person in the parole system after release. Neither tool is a general index of every person who has left Atkinson County custody.

TPM means Tentative Parole Month. The Board says it is not a final parole grant. It identifies the month for final review and, when appropriate, the setting of a parole release date. Conduct, treatment, programming, new facts, or Board review can affect the outcome. A parolee result, by contrast, supports verification that the person is in the post-release parole system.

Check an Atkinson TPM

Use the Inmate TPM Lookup information page when an Atkinson County sentence led to GDC custody and the person remains incarcerated. The tool accepts a six-digit inmate number, GDC ID number, or personal data. A state identifier is the best starting point because names and birth details can match more than one person.

1. Confirm through the Atkinson court or GDC that the case became a state sentence.
2. Open the Board’s Inmate TPM Lookup.
3. Enter the six-digit inmate number or GDC ID when known.
4. If searching personal data, compare every available identity field.
5. Read the result as tentative parole timing, not a release certificate.
6. Check GDC and the Board again for an actual release or later parole status.

A TPM can be advanced, delayed, denied, or rescinded as review continues. It is not a fixed day within the named month. The Board may impose preconditions, and institutional conduct can matter. If no TPM appears, the person may not yet have a published decision, may be ineligible, or may need a corrected search.

Find an Atkinson Parolee

For someone believed to be out of state prison on parole, use the official Parolee Search. The public form searches first name, last name, and race. It allows partial search terms, which can help with spelling but can also produce extra matches. Verify the identity before relying on a result.

A parolee record is a supervision-status source, not a county booking or prison movement history. Pair it with GDC release information and the sentencing record when the exact custody transition matters.

Georgia Parole Dates Explained

Several dates can appear in the life of an Atkinson County state sentence. They do not mean the same thing. The Board says most parole-eligible inmates become statutorily eligible after one-third of the prison sentence, but few are granted parole at that first point. Eligibility only means the Board may consider the case.

Eligibility date

The point when the law allows parole consideration for a qualifying sentence.

TPM

The tentative month for final Board review, subject to conditions and change.

Parole release date

The approved date for conditional release if final review supports it.

Denial or deferment

A result that keeps the person incarcerated and may allow later reconsideration.

Discharge

The later end of the applicable parole supervision status.

O.C.G.A. 17-10-6.1 creates mandatory sentencing and parole limits for listed serious violent felonies. Ordinary parole timing should not be assumed for those cases. Georgia Rules and Regulations 475-3 also governs parole consideration and guidelines. The sentence and offense must be checked before applying any broad timing rule.

Atkinson Parole Meeting Limits

The Board publishes monthly meeting notices and agendas through its press releases. Notices can give a date, time, location, agenda, or cancellation. These public meetings address Board policy and operations. The Board expressly states that individual offender cases are not considered and parole decisions are not made during those meetings.

That limit matters when a family sees the phrase “monthly meeting” and expects a person’s case to be heard in public. The published calendar is not an individual parole hearing calendar. This second image shows the notice channel, not a case-results database. Keeping the tools separate avoids treating a policy meeting as an offender decision session.

After an Atkinson Parole Release

DCS handles the community supervision layer after parole release. Atkinson County is listed in the Alapaha Circuit and served through the Lakeland virtual office. The office listing names Atkinson along with Berrien, Clinch, Cook, and Lanier. A person can be out of prison and still have reporting, travel, conduct, or other lawful supervision conditions.

Parole differs from felony probation. The Board grants parole from a state-prison sentence. A court imposes probation, including the probation part of a split sentence. DCS can supervise both adult felony groups, but the document that created the status comes from a different authority. Misdemeanor supervision may be handled through another provider identified by the sentencing court.

Atkinson Custody Record Boundaries

A person released on bond from Atkinson County Jail is not a parolee merely because the person is outside custody. The sheriff’s release record and court order explain that event. A state prisoner uses GDC for custody and release-date information, Board tools for parole decision or parolee status, and DCS for field supervision.

VINE can report a custody change from a participating feed, but it is not a permanent parole decision archive. Federal releases belong to the Bureau of Prisons. An immigration transfer belongs to ICE or DHS VINE when a documented detainer exists. None of those sources replaces the Board tools for Georgia parole.

The strongest verification chain joins the Atkinson sentence, the GDC state record, the relevant Board lookup, and the DCS supervision path. Each source should agree on identity and stage. If they do not, request the precise public record from the agency responsible for that stage rather than guessing from an old roster entry.
